I am 54 years old. I workout six days a week. Here are some important fitness tips for those over 50.
Your body will adapt to exercising regularly but it will take longer, especially if you haven't exercised for a while.
You are probably worried about strength or your cardio. You need both. I recommend exercising 5 days a week. 3 days of strength training and 2 days of cardio. Tuesday and Thursday are Cardio Days for me. I take Sunday off.

The fact is, when we were 20, we could get away without warm-ups, could downs, proper sleep and nutrition. But not, in our 50s, these are non-negotiable. Your muscle mass starts declining in your 30. Getting more muscle requires MORE WORK as you get older.
Also, your tendons and ligaments that support your joints get weaker and more stiff thanks to the drop in collagen that causes your skin to wrinkle. The more wrinkles, the weaker the ligaments and tendons! It is critical to build a #healthlifestyle while you can. There will come a time when life will tell you to change or else. My advice is to start now. No matter your age. Start creating healthy habits.
